Why is the sun still setting south of west?

The spring equinox was yesterday, but the sun still appears to be setting south of due west. I'm looking down Five Mile Road in Livonia, Michigan -- a major road that runs east and west, and the sun is still slightly south. I thought the equinox is when the sun rises due east and sets due west.
