How to successfully sell cars in this day and age? just started work for a Chevrolet dealership.......?

I just started selling cars for a Chevrolet dealership in Carlsbad, CA... but i haven't had any luck yet, any suggestions or tips? I've got a few prospects but nothing concrete yet, and i just lost a deal i thought i had for an Equinox to a Subaru SUV.....
