What kind of freon does a 2005 chevy equinox use?

All cars made since 1994 (if I recall right) use R134a. I strongly advise you to take it to a professional. It is much easier to damage the compressor with the mess-it-up-yourself recharge kits than to properly charge the system. I didn't have the heart to answer the question from the asker who ignored my advice last year and ended blowing the head off the compressor. He was asking how to fix it....
