My 2010 Chevy Equinox Burns Oil and Rolls While in Gear?

I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox 4 cylender with 24,000 miles on it and it burns oil. It burns 2 quarts of oil in less then 3,000 miles. Is this normal and is anyone else expariancing this issue? Also when the vehicle is in gear it rolls back or forward like it's in neutral. It feel like were driving a manual transmision vehicle. Is this normal or should I have both of these issue looked at? Please help.
